With the daylight hours getting longer, we wanted to announce the current group workout schedule: Tuesdays at 5:30 pm: Road ride from the Colonial Bank Building (adjacent to Mtn Brook YMCA) Wednesdays at 5:30 pm: Runs from Trak Shak Homewood - 3 mi, 5 mi and 8 mi options (and probably more) Additional options being considered are: - Wednesday night beginner ride
- Thursday night track workouts
- Saturday morning rides from two sides of town: (1) Brownell travel and (2) various locations in Shelby County
The Tuesday night rides will continue this year and have become quite popular. There are many different riders of varying experience and paces. Distances can vary as well. The Wednesday night runs will coincide with the long-running Trak Shak Homewood runs. Just head to the Trak Shak and you will see tons of runners milling around. All group workouts are for ALL LEVELS of triathetes. If you have any questions about any of the workouts or have additional suggestions, please email us at info@vulcantri.com.

In a bicycle wreck, hard objects in or on a bike jersey can make the accident even more dangerous. Please consider stashing things like keys, cell phone, inhaler, bike tools, and even flashing lights on the bike, e.g. in a bento box or tool bag, as opposed to in your jersey. Residing close to your jeresey pockets are: Bones: ribs, hips, spine ... yikes! Impact can cause fracture or contusion. Vital Organs: on the LEFT your kidney and spleen & on the RIGHT your kidney and liver. Impact an cause internal bleeding. Muscles: a rider could receive significant blows causing bruising or hematomas. From Sophia Lal: concerned cyclist, local doctor and club member.
