The 2nd Annual Fanny Freeze and Frolicking is just around the corner.  This event is put on by Vulcan Triathletes in conjunction with Team Magic.  It is a for-fun event with a several different bike/run options to choose from…..plus some cool prizes.

EVENT OPTIONS: 
 
RUNS
2 miles some road and some trails of Trinity Hospital  (part of the New Sterne Agee LJCC run course)
5 mile loop Montclair, Memory, Euclid, Hagood
7 mile Whistlestop Irondale Course
9 mile Powerman Irondale Course
 
BIKES
7 mile LJCC MOUNTAIN bike Course (part of the New Sterne Agee LJCC XTERRA off road Bike course)
21 mile Whistlestop Irondale Course
37 mile Powerman Irondale Course
 
DUATHLONS 
…Basically your choice of a combination of any of the above run & bike options. 
Run 2, 5, 7 or 9 miles and bike 7 or 21 mile courses and if feeling good run again, but all must play games to quality for prizes!

GAMES:  ALL WILL PARTICIPATE IN GAMES TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR AWARDS
Games will be a surprise but below are some of the games from last year's event.

Jump Rope
Geriatric Dips
Dart toss
Paddle ball
Balloon run and pop

RULES:
Must participate in any Run, Bike or Duathlon (see options above)
Must play games – these are fun games that anyone can do!
No watches allowed, prizes awarded on "your best guess" of how long it will take you to do your selected athletic activities + the GAMES
Must be USAT member or pay 1 day fee, otherwise no fees!
All events will be unsupported.  The distances are approximate but the courses will be marked.

POST-RACE / AWARDS:

$25 Team Magic Event Gift Cards for overall Male and Female winner
Product prizes:  Hammer Gels, Stuffits, 2009 Team Magic race shirts, prizes not claimed during 2009 Team Magic season (all up for grabs)

PARKING:

The start, finish and post-race area for this race will be at 209 Spring Avenue Birmingham, AL 35213.  Seeing as this is a residence, there will be no parking available at this location.  There are several large parking lots approximately ¼ mi away from the race location.  These are the TJ Maxx parking lots off of Crestwood Blvd (7517 Crestwood Blvd. 35210) across from the Century Plaza mall.  Please park in the lots in this area and plan to ride/run/walk the ¼ mile to the event starting area.

You can register for Fanny Freeze here.  Note:  There will be a $5 fee for all non Vulcan Triathletes members.

Finally, this is a USAT sanctioned training event.  Therefore, you must bring and show a photo ID and your USAT membership card.  If not a USAT member, must pay $10 USAT one-day fee.  If you forget your USAT membership card, you will have to pay the one-day fee.  Also, be sure to bring post race dry clothes so that you can enjoy some time with your fellow club members after the race!
