WANT TO HAVE ONE OF THE TOP PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES OF OUR SPORT STAY WITH YOU? We need people interested in housing the Professional Duathletes coming in for Powerman Alabama, for the weekend of March 27 & 28. This is a pretty exciting program, especially since again this year it is the 2010 Elite National Duathlon Championship. Additionally, the move to Oak Mountain State Park allows the Elite field to have a stand alone road bike portion on Saturday (following Powerkids) and has many foreign professional athletes asking to compete.

The pros want to stay in the area with someone or a family rather than in a hotel room. They travel a lot, are used to doing this and prefer a home type setting with the flavor of the area. We need homestays that do not mind helping them for the weekend, normally 1-5 days, usually 2-3. This year a couple of foreign athletes have asked to come in for 2 weeks to prepare. Some of these pros are very self sufficient with a car and food. Others may need or want and appreciate:

• Rides to and from race, please attend and support them
• Ride to and from mandatory pro meeting on Friday
• Southern flavor, invite them to eat with you
• Take them to the local grocery so they can buy what they want to eat
• Recommend that they try PowerAde, it will be served during the race
• Spend time with them, remember they SHOULD be tapering; they may want to go for an easy ride or run with YOU on the course. Enjoy this time.
