Bike Link, one of our club sponsors, is hosting a Ladies Night at their Hoover store this Thursday May 15 from 6-8pm.  Rebecca Van Dyke will be there to show Specialized's latest offerings for women cyclists.  Also, Bike Link mechanics will have multiple tech clinics for those interested in maintaining their rides.  RSVP's are welcome but not required.  You can call Joe at 985-0001 for more details or to RSVP.

May is National Bike Month!  The League of American Bicyclists is promoting Bike-to-Work week this week, May 12-16 and Bike-to-Work Day will be on Friday May 16th.   On May 16th, a group of cyclists will be meeting at the fountain in Five Points South and departing at 7:00 am for a 6 mi ride through downtown.   This event is sponsored by the Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham with support of many local organizations including Vulcan Triathletes.

Our sweet new seat covers are in and are ready to be sold!!  These are super soft gray NeatSeat covers with our Vulcan Tri logo on them in black and white.  The seat cover with nothing on it retails for $49.95 - $54.95 but our we are selling them at a special club cost of only $45!  And not only do you get the seat cover, but it also comes with two seat belt covers so that you can keep your seat belt from getting sweaty too! 

If you pre-ordered one of these seat covers, you will be contacted regarding payment and pickup.  If you haven't already ordered one but wish to do so, you can do that here.  We only ordered 75 of them so quantities are limited!  Caitlin will be at the Trak Shak next Wednesday night 4/23 to give out seat covers to anyone that has ordered one or wants to get one.  You can read more details about the seat covers in this article posted last month.

The original tri clothing order deadline was Sunday 4/6 but as of yet we have not met the Sugoi minimum order number for any of the pieces which is 24.  So we’ve decided to extend the order deadline to try to meet the minimums.  It means the clothing will be in a little later, but we can’t order if we don’t meet the minimums!

The Sugoi fit kit will remain at Homewood Cycle until this Friday 4/11.  It will then be taken to Irondale and available to try on at the Powerman packet-pickup this Saturday 4/12 from 12 pm – 7 pm.   You will have the chance to place an order at our club booth at the Powerman expo.  The online order form will also remain available until the new order deadline of Sunday 4/20.   Remember that this will be the only tri clothing order done this year so get your orders in soon!
